Privacy Policy
Last updated April 4, 2026
Summary in Plain Words
There is no code or tracking from Facebook, Google Analytics, or any ad network in Mapkeepr. We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. The only account method is Sign in with Apple — we never see or store your Apple password. If you use the app without signing in, we know nothing about you.
We want to make it clear how we use your data because that's what we'd want from apps we use ourselves. By using Mapkeepr you accept this privacy policy.
What We Collect
- If you sign in with Apple, we receive your name, email address (or Apple's private relay address), and a unique identifier. These are stored securely to provide your account.
- If you save places, we store the place name, address, coordinates, your personal notes, ratings, visit status, and how you organized them (collections, tags). This is the core data that powers the app.
- If you share a screenshot to extract places, the image is sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI for analysis. We do not permanently store the screenshot — it is processed and discarded. Only the extracted place information is saved.
- If you upload a collection cover image, the image is stored securely in our cloud storage. Only you can access your uploaded images.
- If you subscribe to Mapkeepr Pro, your subscription is managed entirely by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status but never see your payment details.
- If you follow other users or share collections, we store those relationships to provide the social features you opted into.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not access your device location. Place coordinates come from Google Places, not your GPS.
- We do not access your photo library. Images are only processed when you explicitly share them.
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprint your device.
- We do not access your contacts, calendar, microphone, or health data.
Third-Party Services
We use the following services to operate Mapkeepr:
- Supabase — hosts our database and user authentication. Your account data and saved places are stored here.
- OpenAI — analyzes screenshots you share to identify places. Images are sent to OpenAI's API for processing and are subject to OpenAI's API data usage policy (API inputs are not used to train their models).
- Google Places API — provides place details (address, rating, photos) when you search for or save a place. Your search queries are sent to Google.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status for Mapkeepr Pro. Receives your anonymous user ID and subscription events.
- Apple — handles Sign in with Apple authentication and in-app purchases.
We do not share your personal information with any other third parties.
Analytics
Mapkeepr does not include any third-party analytics SDKs. No Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude. We do not track which screens you visit or which buttons you tap.
Ads
Mapkeepr does not show ads and contains no advertising code.
How Information is Used
We use the information we collect to operate and improve Mapkeepr. We do not share personal information with outside parties except as described above to provide the app's features. We may disclose your information in response to legal requirements, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transaction (merger, acquisition) where user data may be among the transferred assets.
How We Protect Information
All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Your data is protected by row-level security policies — you can only access your own data. Authentication uses secure JWT tokens stored in your device's Keychain.
Your Rights & Data Deletion
You can delete individual places, collections, and tags at any time within the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, or to request a copy of your data, email us at privacy@mapkeepr.com.
California Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance
We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.
Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13. No part of Mapkeepr is designed to attract anyone under 13.
Information for European Union Users
By using Mapkeepr and providing your information, you authorize us to collect, use, and store your information outside of the European Union. Data privacy laws vary across jurisdictions, and different laws may apply depending on where your data is processed.

We may update this privacy policy in the future. Visit this page to stay informed about how we handle your data.
